Solution

Systematic treatment with highly active microorganisms is a proven effective environmentally friendly method of reducing fat deposits. It is excellently suited as a biological degreasing agent in sewer networks.
The formation of harmful hydrogen sulfide (H2S) takes place in the sewer films. The air-impermeable fat deposits contribute significantly to the anaerobic environment of the biofilms and provide an ideal breeding ground for the desulphurising bacteria. If the nerve-toxic and odor-intensive hydrogen sulfide reaches aerobic zones in the system (pump shafts), it is oxidized to sulfuric acid (H2SO4) by sulfurizing bacteria (thiobacilli) over several steps. This is considered the cause of biogenic concrete and material corrosion in sewer systems.
By removing the fats and the anaerobic bacteria living in them, the sulfide problem and thus the biogenesis of sulfuric acid is solved in a natural way.


The lipobak bacteria

The product is a mixture of natural bacteria selected for high lipase activity and broad pH tolerance.
In addition, they are classified in risk group 1 - such as the microorganisms used in food production - and are therefore harmless. In addition, a special biotechnological cultivation process ensures that they have maximum lipase activity.


The application

The liquid product is pumped from containers into suitable drains by means of dosing pumps. After the system has been freed from fat deposits, a daily dosage maintains the effect. It is recommended to use the product during breaks (e.g. at night) in order to prolong the residence time of the bacteria in the system. When drawing up the dosing plan, the size and capacity of the plant as well as the dimensions of the wastewater system up to the canal mouth are taken into account.

The mode of action

Due to their exceptionally high fat-splitting enzyme activity, the microorganisms are predestined for targeted use in wastewater systems in order to biocatalytically decompose fat deposits. Biochemically speaking, this process is an enzymatically catalyzed saponification reaction in which the fat molecule is split into its constituents glycerol and fatty acids. These degradation products are very easily biodegradable and can no longer form deposits.

  • The product works continuously and is therefore sustainable.
  • The degradation products of the biochemical reaction (glycerol and fatty acids) are very easily degradable substances that can also be absorbed and utilized by microorganisms without lipase activity. This promotes the entire biological degradation process, which already takes place to a considerable extent in the sewer and continues later in the sewage treatment plant.
  • Plant components (pipes, fittings, etc.) are protected. Expensive repairs, which become necessary due to damage during mechanical cleaning, are no longer necessary.
  • The bottom line is lower costs and, last but not least, more pleasant working conditions.
